Dr. Peter Fritz – The Revolutionary Impact of AI on Dentistry: Will Dental Specialists Survive?
The future of the dental specialist is clearly on the brink of unprecedented change. Together, we will investigate the burgeoning role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in dentistry.
We will explore the existing applications of AI, including AI-powered dental radiology, predictive analytics, automated patient management systems, and intelligent prosthetic design. In demonstrating these advancements, we hope to paint a vivid picture of the technological possibilities in modern dental practice.
The swift progression of AI technology brings forth both exhilarating possibilities and significant concerns for dental specialists. Will AI erode the importance of human expertise in dentistry, or could it empower dental specialists by automating routine tasks and fostering a focus on personalized patient care?

Dr. Drew Young – Minimally Invasive Soft Tissue Grafting for Root Coverage
Treatments for root coverage are continually evolving towards a more minimalistic approach. This shift aims for less patient morbidity, faster healing times and superior esthetic outcomes, while still achieving clinical success. A case involving a tunnel approach combined with an acellular dermal matrix, used to treat multiple gingival recessions in the maxilla, will be presented. We will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of this technique, and considerations for minimally invasive soft tissue procedures.
This Session will be moderated by Dr. Debora Matthews
Dr. Haider Hussain – Optimized Guided Bone Regeneration
In instances of inadequate thickness of alveolar bone, Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR) may be required to facilitate successful implant placement. As with any surgical procedure, there are risks and limitations. Exploring a case of failed GBR due to early infection and membrane exposure, we will discuss ways to optimize successful GBR procedures using d-PTFE membrane. We will present the advantages and disadvantages of types of regenerative membranes and various bone graft materials, together with the management of late membrane exposure.

Dr. David Psutka – The use of platelet-derived growth factors in alveolar ridge reconstruction and in the management of temporomandibular disorders.
The gold standard for bone grafting in reconstructive surgery and dental implant site preparation has historically been autogenous bone. This lecture will show how this paradigm seems to be changing. Platelet derived growth factors combined with homologous and or xenograft materials are providing predictable outcomes in bone regeneration.
Intra-articular TMJ injection with PDGF has been demonstrating impressive results in the management of TMJ intra-articular pain from internal derangements and degenerative joint disease.
This lecture will discuss the biology and clinical use of this technique.
